The advances that have been made industrial machinery through improved technology in recent years have placed a tremendous burden on the lubricants required for operation of this machinery. This burden is the result of faster speeds, increased pressures, higher temperatures and various other factors associated with our modern day, high production oriented industry. Starting with the highest quality base stocks and additives available, the Coolant Controlhydraulic oils are designed to handle the above mentioned conditions. Actual field use has proven that the Aries Series give excellent performance in all hydraulic oil applications as well as spindal and machine oil applications.

The Aries Series are anti-wear hydraulic oils which also offer the same high quality rust and oxidation properties as the Pandora/Poseidon series. The Athena Series surpasses 4,000 hours in the ASTM-D-943 Oxidation Stability Test. Both the Aries Series products are formulated to protect moving parts in hydraulic systems from wearing.

Hydraulic systems typically contain some type of pump (vane, piston or gear) which maintains the oil pressure in the system. The moving parts in these pumps are susceptible to wear problems. ASTM D-2882 Vane Pump Testing of Petroleum Hydraulic Fluids is one test method used to evaluate anti-wear properties. The Aries Series oils show a typical weight loss of 20 milligrams on the ring and 2 milligrams on the vanes of the Vickers pump used for the test method. This is considered excellent performance.
